It doesn’t help that these celebrities get lesser punishments than “regular” people. It is almost as though we are condoning this sort of behaviour and lifestyle as being acceptable. With role models like Britney Spears, who only a few years ago had an emotional breakdown, and Lindsay Lohan, who has been in and out of jail and rehab, what can we expect of the youth?Īnd the worst part is that these people are still famous and constantly talked about. Is this the sort of example we want to give to the youth of today? That by acting out and behaving badly we can get more attention and become famous? No wonder young people can be so out of control these days. Smoking, endorsing drugs and alcohol and being susceptible to drunken rages have given him even more attention and made him even more famous than he was 12 months ago. He has been the highest paid TV actor for years now, earning $2 million per episode of Two and a Half Men, and he has gone completely off the rails. The problem we face with having celebrities as role models is that if they start endorsing issues which are not positive, it can very easily lead us astray. This idolisation of celebrities can be positive because it gives young people someone to look up to. Celebrities like Paris Hilton and the Kardashian sisters are but a few examples. In more recent times, movie stars and musicians have become the idols in our lives. In many countries the kings and queens or people of power gained respect and their subjects longed to be just like them. In Greek mythology Hercules was the celebrity of the day. But still when it dose come they think can get out of it with money or fame, they act as if there above the lawbecause the famous. Then there are the people who make bad decisions all the time and know it.Who don’t really care about it ethier intill the pentalty comes. Now some people who happen to be celebritys that are bad influences are just the same as reagular people.We can all say we’ve had a few slip ups and thats all thats some of the things are that famous people get expolted for.Everyone gose thourgh fases and how come its so wierd when they do it but everyone dose it? such as ” miley cyrus, joe jonas and hillary Duff.’ I think that it all depends on the celebrity that your looking at when you say “is she/he a good role model?”, because everyone is different and when you label someone as a celebrity it dose not make them a bad person.
